Smaller 1/2″ to 2″ flow indicators are typically used in fire sprinkler branch line applications.

Larger sizes from 2 1/2″ to 12″ are used on main sprinkler system piping, risers, standpipes, and main water distribution lines.

The maximum flow rate on each flow indicator size normally based on maintaining proper paddle rotation speed and visibility. Higher flow velocities require larger indicator sizes.
