What is a malleable plug?
No291 HDG iron Plug fittings are designed to seal open ended pipes. Simply tap them into place to create a flush seal for your pipe. These can be used with Schedule 40 pipe. The caps are a hot-dipped galvanized finish.

Malleable iron fittings, also called black iron fittings, are available up to 6 inch nominal pipe size, though they are more common to 4 inches. Malleable fittings include elbows, tees, couplings and floor flange etc
Why can’t I use Rust oleum on galvanized metal?
Spray paints will react with the zinc during any stage of the galvanized layer, in a process called saponification. The alkyd-base interacts with the zinc to form a soap at the interface. This will result in poor paint adhesion and paint peeling.
